Ronald Ophuis (1968) woont en werkt in Amsterdam. Hij studeerde aan de Aki Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Enschede en de Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Hij won verschillende prijzen waaronder de Jeanne Oosting Prijs (2004), de Charlotte Köhler Prijs (1998) en de Kunstprijs Provincie Overijssel (1997). Hij had solotentoonstellingen in het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, het Jan Cunen Museum in Oss en in verschillende internationale galeries. Zijn werk was ook te zien in een grote verscheidenheid aan groepstentoonstellingen in binnen- en buitenland, waaronder het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum Arnhem, Museum De Paviljoens Almere, Fondation Francès Senlis, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, Kunstraum Innsbruck, Kunsthal Rotterdam en Stedelijk Museum Zwolle. Zijn werk is opgenomen in toonaangevende privé-, bedrijfs- en museale collecties zoals het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, Centraal Museum Utrecht en Museum De Fundatie Zwolle.
