This weekend is your last chance to see these five exhibitions in Amsterdam, Brussels and Antwerp. On GalleryViewer you will find the works on view, their price tags (or price ranges) and artist information for each exhibition. The magazine offers more context and interviews, and the exhibition calendar shows which exhibitions are coming up next.
The exhibition ‘In the Fold’, on view through 8 November at Working Title in Amsterdam, brings together the work of Dion Rosina, Nathan Joshua Bastien, Wendy Owusu and Matt Saunders around the idea of sampling and fragmentation, both visually and in the ways personal and historical narratives are constructed.
Ellen de Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam is showing ‘They Call You Mother, They Call Me Mama’ by Tyna Adebowale through 8 November. The exhibition pays tribute to grandmothers and other women who play a central role in caring for the next generation, both within and beyond the bounds of bloodlines. Read a recent interview with the artist here.
Until 8 November, Gallery Sofie Van den Bussche in Brussels presents the solo exhibition ‘Tendresse’ by Mieke Teirlinck. In it, the artist shows us a series of new oil paintings that invite a gentler, more human way of looking, emphasising what connects us rather than what divides us.
The exhibition ‘Teratology’, on view through 8 November at Galerie Caroline O’Breen in Amsterdam, brings together the work of Anne Geene and Lana Mesić around their shared attention to what is irregular, overlooked or out of place. Read an article about the exhibition here.
The exhibition ‘IN THE MORNING, LAUGHING, HAPPY FISH HEADS’, on view until 9 November at Shoobil in Antwerp, unites four artists around the symbolism of the fish and the tension between the sacred and the absurdly everyday. Its title is taken from the satirical 1978 song ‘Fish Heads’ by Barnes & Barnes. Read an article about the exhibition here.
