De Nederlandse kunstenaar Klaas Kloosterboer (°1959) is een van de meest eigenzinnige kunstenaars en daarmee een van de interessantste. Zijn werk is uiterst fysiek en tastbaar. Het nestelt zich – door een cyclus van constructie, vernietiging en reconstructie – in steeds nieuwe vormen en gedaanten, waarbij hij voortdurend van het tweedimensionale naar het driedimensionale beeld overschakelt en speelt met de verschillen tussen de twee. In elk werk dat hij maakt, lijkt Kloosterboer zijn medium – meestal schilderkunst – tot het uiterste te willen testen en opnieuw uit te vinden.
