Arantxa Etcheverria studied visual arts at Villa Arson in Nice and scenography and costumes at the National Theatre of Strasbourg. Starting with 2012, she has developed an artistic practice centered on the modernist architecture of her studio in Bucharest. Suprematist or Constructivist influences can be noticed in her body of work, which is the result of meditative reflection. Often, she references art history or biblical stories, such as the apocalypse or the myth of the Babel tower, reflecting on the visual and symbolical affinities between language and architecture. Her practice is interdisciplinary and encompasses collages, objects, installations, photomontages, performances and video works.
