During Museum Night, the new exhibition by James Aldridge opens at Christian Ouwens Gallery at 8:00 PM. The artist will be present and will gladly sign your (free) poster.
In his paintings, Aldridge depicts the intertwined relationship between humans, animals, and nature. He draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, from historical field guides to heavy metal album covers, and brings these together on his canvases. The result is a complex yet symbiotic visual language, where even after hours of looking, one can still spot new details.
By not limiting himself to strictly naturalistic representations, but also incorporating symbols and abstract forms, Aldridge displays the manifold ways humans relate to nature.
