About the work
This Dreaming tells of the abundant bush tomatoes gathered by Indigenous women across the land.
These tomatoes, both large and small varieties, grow plentifully and are found scattered throughout the country. When ripe, they are carefully collected and prepared. Using a stick, the women remove the seeds, which are then left to dry in the warmth of the sun or near the heat of a fire. This process reflects a deep connection to the land, knowledge passed down through generations, and the importance of bush foods in sustaining community life.
