Lu Luo uses elements of traditional Chinese theater costumes and textiles that she abstractly incorporates into expressive colorful works of art. She draws the inspiration for her work from her childhood, growing up as a child of stage actors amid the bustle of an opera house. With her artworks, Lu Luo bridges the gap between past and future and between Eastern and Western culture.
Chinese artist Lu Luo was born in 1971 in Sichuan. In 1992 she left for the Netherlands with her partner Zhuang Hong Yi, also an artist. Since then they have lived and worked alternately in the Netherlands and Beijing.
