The one-sided artwork is inspired by Dick Verdult's first novel. The main idea driven by 'My Prisonbars Are Beautifullyer' is that everybody has their own prison and deep down they think their prison is better than the others'. To counteract the harsh, heavy topic, Verdult tried to make it more gentle and frivolous by giving to it an innocent title and a naive, simplistic appearance. The flower on the right bottom of the piece catches the attention of the eye thanks to its detailed representation and to its style which recalls embroidery.
