In 2018 The National Glass Museum Leerdam organized the exhibition 'Art Deco Glass - Promise for the Modern', in which among others works by glass artist Lucienne Bloch were on display. On this occasion the museum commissioned Christie van der Haak, designers Karim Adduchi and Studio VANTOT, to create glassware inspired by the historic Art Deco glass.
In the glassworks of the National Glass Museum, Christie van der Haak created a series of vases with master glassblower Gert Bullée, including this Lucia vase. It has a beautiful play of blue lines and beige surfaces. The inside is blown hollow and covered with blue pigment. The cavity creates a mirror effect in the glass which seems to change the patterns when you look at them from different angles.
