TINKEBELL. premieres her new project Arena Candidus Solvay, which addresses a factory's pollutive emissions that make a Tuscan beach look deceptively pretty. Similar to the series' predecessor, Flora Tata Metallica, these artworks were made using only the toxic materials gathered in the area surrounding the factory by the artist herself.
Luis Xertu's new paintings were inspired by photography archives of the 1920s-60s: secretly kept images of gay men in their free time having fun with each other, which was then seen as illegal behaviour. The dynamic between community and loneliness in these artworks stems from the artist's own struggles as a gay man.
Erik de Bree presents new artworks in his Rearrangements series. The rearrangement of wooden layers formed the starting point for the works. Erik lets the material surprise him; rearranged pieces of wood create disorienting patterns.
