The bat is one of the animals that is given special attention in the demonology and bestiaries of the Middle Ages. Without wanting to reproduce or integrate the bat’s images and situations from the Middle Ages, I bring it to contemporary times (by the fact that the bat is on an x-ray), but still appealing to an aesthetic that refers to the art of the Middle Ages and its demonology. A fantastic contemporaneity, of course, because my drawing does not reveal what an x-ray would really show us – it is an invented anatomy of it. The medieval bat meets modern medicine, in a leap over the centuries.
