Iris Bergman onderzoekt de natuur als utopia via de lens. Ze construeert landschappen en creëert stillevens waar het botanische centraal staat. Door het schakelen tussen observant en regisseur, zorgt ze voor spanning in haar werk. Het resultaat is een speelse mix hiertussen waarin er een nieuwe wereld ontstaat.
Haar werk kenmerkt zich door de fragmentarische constructies, waarin ogenschijnlijk willekeurige benaderingen stukje bij beetje ontstaan en haar onderwerpen transformeren tot een artificiële wereld. Het samenbrengen van deze benaderingen tot een geheel is een belangrijk onderdeel van haar werkproces.
