In de tekeningen, schilderijen en sculpturen van Ronny Delrue is het vooral de afwezigheid van beschrijvende details die opvalt. Zo wordt de zoektocht naar herkenbaarheid ingewisseld met het ontdekken van het innerlijke van het onderwerp. De ongenaakbare herinnering maakt bij de kijker plaats voor een onderzoekende aandacht voor de schaarse ankerpuntjes waaraan we een verhaal of indruk kunnen ophangen. Zo treedt er bijna tegelijk een bevreemding en herkenning op bij het kijken naar het werk, telkens met op de achtergrond het moeilijke spanningsveld tussen het weten en vergeten, het vinden en zoeken, het denken en onthouden.

In March and April 2017 I resided in Kathmandu for six weeks. Living in the city and being submerged in the Nepalese culture and society proved to be fertile for new works to emerge. The result was shown in the exhibition Kathmandu Triënnale, My City, My Studio/My City, My Life.

My residency at FLACC and the three working periods at .EKWC - European Ceramics Work Centre (see below) were the starting point of the exhibition Touching The Earth and The Sky at Z33 - House for Contemporary Art, Hasselt in 2008 and also for the connected symposium Van lijn tot steen (see ‘Symposiums’).

In 2003 I learned that the ‘coming in to being’ of a work of art is far more important to me than the making process as such. What had been a marginal research in this period would soon become the focus of CCM – Centre for Cloning and Manipulation. At the end of this residency I presented my work in my studio.
In 2005 I continued working on the concept of CCM - Centre for Cloning and Manipulation. In 2009 this resulted in the exhibition CCM - Centre for Cloning and Manipulation - Collection 2009. The entire gallery was transformed into an office space, in which the CCM collection was presented. The gallerist was part of the exhibition: she became ‘the secretary of CCM. At the end of the residency I presented my work at the studio.
In 2007 I was exceptionally given a third residency at. EKWC - European Ceramics Work Centre, because my work had evolved in close relation with architecture. I worked together with architects like Stéphane Beel and Wim Goes. This collaboration was documented in a text by Mieke Mels: ‘Touching the earth and the sky’, in NU, Z33 - House for Contemporary Art, 2008 - 2010, MER - Paper Kunsthalle vzw, Ghent, 2010, pp. 40 – 63. At the end of this residency I presented my work in the studio.
In 2009 . EKWC - European Ceramics Work Centre showed my work Touching The Earth and The Sky (sculptures in porcelain and baked and unbaked earth) in the exhibition Ceramics and Architectue, during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

My residency in 1999 resulted in a series of lithographies and an edition for the Friends of the S.M.A.K.
In 2005 I won the first prize at La Cinquième Biennale Internationale de gravure de Liège. The prize was a solo show in 2006 (Lost memories et Nouvelles histoires) at Cabinet des estampes et des dessins. This allowed me to strengthen my network in Liège and organize another solo exhibition at Les Brasseurs in 2001: Les chambres de la tête.
My residency in 2006 led to a series of lithographies and etchings, entitled Cerebriraptor.
In 2009 Honoré d’o, Ronny Delrue, Kendell Geers, Vincent Geyskens, Tina and en Pieter Vermeersch collaborated on the project Re-print. This resulted in both an exhibition and a publicatie (Re-print, published by Cultural Centre, Mechelen, and Frans Masereel Centre, Kasterlee).
Residency at master printmaker Rudolf Rössler in Hohenössig, Germany
In 2000 I had the opportunity to work in the studio of master printmaker Rudolf Rössler in Hohenössig. I made an etching for the Graphic Art Biennial of Leipzig. The different techniques I learned at Rössler’s studio resulted in the edition 7 Tage Höhenossig and the exhibition Kaltnadel – die Lineaire Gravur, Kunstlerhaus Hohenössig, Hohenössig, Germany.

In March and April 2017 I resided in Kathmandu for six weeks. Living in the city and being submerged in the Nepalese culture and society proved to be fertile for new works to emerge. The result was shown in the exhibition Kathmandu Triënnale, My City, My Studio/My City, My Life.

FLACC – Workplace for visual artists, Genk, Belgium
My residency at FLACC and the three working periods at .EKWC - European Ceramics Work Centre (see below) were the starting point of the exhibition Touching The Earth and The Sky at Z33 - House for Contemporary Art, Hasselt in 2008 and also for the connected symposium Van lijn tot steen (see ‘Symposiums’).
EKWC – European Ceramics Work Centre, ‘s-Hertogenbosch (today in Tilburg), The Netherlands
In 2003 I learned that the ‘coming in to being’ of a work of art is far more important to me than the making process as such. What had been a marginal research in this period would soon become the focus of CCM – Centre for Cloning and Manipulation. At the end of this residency I presented my work in my studio.
In 2005 I continued working on the concept of CCM - Centre for Cloning and Manipulation. In 2009 this resulted in the exhibition CCM - Centre for Cloning and Manipulation - Collection 2009. The entire gallery was transformed into an office space, in which the CCM collection was presented. The gallerist was part of the exhibition: she became ‘the secretary of CCM. At the end of the residency I presented my work at the studio.
In 2007 I was exceptionally given a third residency at. EKWC - European Ceramics Work Centre, because my work had evolved in close relation with architecture. I worked together with architects like Stéphane Beel and Wim Goes. This collaboration was documented in a text by Mieke Mels: ‘Touching the earth and the sky’, in NU, Z33 - House for Contemporary Art, 2008 - 2010, MER - Paper Kunsthalle vzw, Ghent, 2010, pp. 40 – 63. At the end of this residency I presented my work in the studio.
In 2009 . EKWC - European Ceramics Work Centre showed my work Touching The Earth and The Sky (sculptures in porcelain and baked and unbaked earth) in the exhibition Ceramics and Architectue, during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
Frans Masereel Centre, Kasterlee, Belgium
My residency in 1999 resulted in a series of lithographies and an edition for the Friends of the S.M.A.K.
In 2005 I won the first prize at La Cinquième Biennale Internationale de gravure de Liège. The prize was a solo show in 2006 (Lost memories et Nouvelles histoires) at Cabinet des estampes et des dessins. This allowed me to strengthen my network in Liège and organize another solo exhibition at Les Brasseurs in 2001: Les chambres de la tête.
My residency in 2006 led to a series of lithographies and etchings, entitled Cerebriraptor.
In 2009 Honoré d’o, Ronny Delrue, Kendell Geers, Vincent Geyskens, Tina and en Pieter Vermeersch collaborated on the project Re-print. This resulted in both an exhibition and a publicatie (Re-print, published by Cultural Centre, Mechelen, and Frans Masereel Centre, Kasterlee).
Residency at master printmaker Rudolf Rössler in Hohenössig, Germany
In 2000 I had the opportunity to work in the studio of master printmaker Rudolf Rössler in Hohenössig. I made an etching for the Graphic Art Biennial of Leipzig. The different techniques I learned at Rössler’s studio resulted in the edition 7 Tage Höhenossig and the exhibition Kaltnadel – die Lineaire Gravur, Kunstlerhaus Hohenössig, Hohenössig, Germany.
