Walter Wathieu, Belgian artist born in Liège in 1992. His artistic production is characterized by a search for a form of organic spontaneity expressed through the tools and techniques used in the metallurgical, surveillance or videography industry. With a master’s degree in industrial design and several years of collaboration with leading Belgian artists, his career has led him to explore a variety of media, including video, algorithmic works, design and sculpture. At the heart of his approach lies a subtle balance between rigorous rigorous technical control and a deliberate acceptance of chance and accidents in the final result, revealing the chaotic yet harmonious essence of creation and its perception. In 2020, he initiated the Panamax project, a Liège-based artist run space based in Liège, dedicated to the promotion of contemporary and experimental practices. His work has been exhibited at venues such as the Lille Grand Palais, FRAC de Nantes, Kunsthall Gent, Plus One Gallery, Avee Gallery, DMW Gallery and Kanal Centre Pompidou Brussels.
