Louwrien Wijers (1941) ia a visual artist and writer. She calls herself a sculptor and considers herself an adept of Joseph Beuys. She takes writing and speaking as sculpture. Her work is a mental sculpture, in the first place. Her most extensive and elaborated scupture is 'Art meets Science and Spirituality in a changing Economy', executed in 1990 and 1996.
Compassionate Economy is her focus since 1998. It brought the conclusion that 'Satisficing not Maximising' is the trend and "No Lying/No Stealing/No Killing//Grains/Vegetables/Beans" is a firm basis for a household, economy. The influence of food on our future is now the interest for her work.
