Juliette Blightman 1980

Lives in Londen. Works in Londen.
Represented by:

Galerie Fons Welters

Juliette Blightman seeks the boundary between private moments and the shared intimacy of a personal moment. This is due to observing her own life; moments with her daughter, friends, making exhibitions and more. Blightman takes us into her personal life through her photos, videos, drawings, paintings and installations, where voyeurism is combined with a dash of melancholy. Despite being originally a video maker, Blightman's photographs are characteristic of family photography. The photos reflect Blightman as a portrait against the background of larger world events. She documents what is threatened by a growing culture of censorship while at the same time respecting someone else's privacy.
