About Yellow Gallery
Yellow Gallery, founded in 2024 and located in the heart of Leiden, represents a vibrant selection of contemporary artworks by both emerging and mid-career artists.
Our mission is to champion these artists and present their work to a broad and engaged network of collectors and art lovers. We also offer art consultancy services, helping individuals and institutions build thoughtful, lasting collections.
The gallery is housed in a Rijksmonument designed by Margarethe Nieuwenhuis, Barones Von Uexküll-Guldenbandt (1873–1970)—a pioneering figure of German-Baltic noble origin, born in Kaunas, Lithuania. A classmate of Albert Einstein at the Polytechnic School in Zürich. Einstein himself was a regular visitor next door at the Ehrenfest House, and occasionally stopped by "’t Kasteeltje," the building that now hosts Yellow Gallery.
Yellow Gallery embraces the building's rich history and authentic character, creating curated exhibitions that draw on the space’s unique atmosphere. With a focus on thematic presentations, the gallery fosters a dialogue between art, artist, and audience, offering a dynamic and memorable experience that transcends the traditional white cube.
