CHIN Meng-Hsuan currently uses oil painting as artistic approach to challenge the idea of narrative in the image. Trained first in literature and later in fine art, she considers the ambiguity of meaning inherent in both literary and pictorial forms. Her works evolve around space, time, everyday life and sometimes a given representation. In abstracting visual and verbal elements from various encounters, she explores the relationship between thinking process and bodily movement intrinsic to the painterly practice.
