“For my paintings, I draw a lot of inspiration from photos I take during my walks. I am especially fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow in the landscape. These photos serve as a starting point for my compositions, where I try to capture the essence of the captured moments on canvas. The photos help me to distill abstract forms from reality. I’m fascinated by colour and movement. the paintings show interfaces between nature and the world that humans create for themselves.
In my work, you can see the history of modern art and I am attracted to the classic landscape. My aim is to capture nature’s essence in my choice of colours, composition and the movements of my brush strokes. Nature’s meditative quietness is at the core of my larger pigment paintings. I’m perpetually seeking to develop my ability to express nature’s qualities and to do so in many different ways”.
