Emmanuel Fillion is a French-American sculptor born in Soissons, a region rich in (art) history and stonemasonry. Fillion is a descendant of the master Jean Cousin, painter of the French Renaissance "Eva Prima Pandora." At the age of 15, he immersed himself in his interest in sculpture. After school, he renovated prestigious historical monuments in France, including Notre Dame and the Louvre, as an apprentice sculptor. This period was an opportunity for him to explore various styles of art.
Today he owns his own studio in Pietrasanta, Italy. In his work, he honors women of all cultures. The expressive female figures are inspired by movement, dance, philosophy, culture and feminism. According to him, women are a generative force, as well as complex, which makes them fascinating. Spirituality flows through his works, which viewers should approach as a personal experience with perception and feeling.
A huge part of the world had already a taste of his art. His sculptures belong to private collections worldwide. Emmanuel may add a list of exhibitions to his resume as well. Moreover, his works have also been featured in on-screen media: Hollywood films such as In Time, Green Hornet, as well as in a Super Bowl audio commercial and in the documentary "Through the Eyes of the Sculptor.
