Ioanna Limniou, born in 1987, lives and works in Athens, Greece. Limniou's paintings feature classical figurative and still-life imagery rendered with a naïf aesthetic. As an artist, Limniou integrates the materiality of her mediums in her work. The wood for the canvases is often the beginning point for a multi-media process that includes paper, cloth, and monotypes on plexiglass. Ready-made items like photo frames can also be incorporated into the piece. She uses oils, crayons, watercolor pencils, markers, mixed media, and collages in her paintings.
