Octavie Wolters studied Dutch language and literature and is both a writer and a visual artist. In 2016 she made her debut at Ambo|Anthos with the novel Voorland. In 2020, the very personal 'Slot', about depression and life in times of corona, was published, which was both written and illustrated by Octavie. Six editions appeared in record time and they received an award from the city of Roermond for it.
As a visual artist, Octavie is mainly concerned with making linocuts, which she gouges and prints at home. The song of the starling is her first book for children. A poetic picture book, with plenty of room for beautiful her linocuts of birds.
