About La Patinoire Royale | Galerie Valérie Bach
The Patinoire Royale | Galerie Valérie Bach opened its doors in April 2015 in the world’s first roller skating rink which was built in 1877 and classified as a historical monument in 1995.
Today the gallery a group of international artists. The program promotes a dialogue between generations: established artists, international mid-career artists, and the experiences of younger artists.
In response to our quasi-institutional qualification, the gallery chooses to present important historical exhibitions, highlighting the international, Belgian, and Modern Art movements such as narrative figuration, kinetic art or Belgian abstraction, both in sculpture and in painting.
Our gallery offers in its 3,000 square meters four distinct spaces of different sizes: the large nave, the glazed gallery, the first floor and the ground-to-street level. This grand space allows us to hold exhibitions of various forms and expressions - simultaneously or distinctly - which present the full measure of its broad artistic spectrum, with an indisputably embraced cultural and pedagogic aim. As such, each curated exhibition is accompanied by a publication and knowledgeable personnel available to the public.
