Joep van Lieshout is a Dutch artist, designer, and founder of Atelier Van Lieshout (AVL). Since establishing his studio in 1995, he has developed a multidisciplinary practice at the intersection of fine art, design, and architecture. His sculptures, installations, and architectural projects explore themes such as autonomy, power, labor, technology, and societal systems. With a distinctive visual language in which functionality and sculpture merge, Van Lieshout is one of the most influential artists of his generation. His work is represented worldwide in museums, public collections, and international biennials.
