Victoria Palacios (1992 in France, lives and works in Brussels) is a painter, musician, and performer. She has developed a hybrid practice, weaving narratives between different mediums. Like a conductor, she engages in the interrelation of autonomous images, testing the affinities that her works individually have for each other. The medium for her paintings varies, as she paints on pocketbooks, canvases, and shoes. She constructs a lexicon of styles and motifs and emphasizes the immersive dimension of painted material. The stories she adopts are unfolded through pictorial, sculptural, and sound forms, as well as ghostly and theatrical atmospheres that also unfold in her performances. In her work, the painting participates in a broader narrative, parameters and symbols recur like winks.
Victoria Palacios is also part of the duo ‘Alto Fuero’ with musician and performer Loto Retina.
