About EVA STEYNEN GALLERY
Since 2013 the Eva Steynen Gallery has been supporting and promoting contemporary artists with a strong conceptual and visual vocabulary. The gallery explores questions in the fields of conceptual and curatorial practice and has a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with a small group of mid-carreer and young artists, Belgian based and international.
The gallery is situated on the ground floor of a large 19th century town house. The gallery's objective is to show young artists to discover and support and promote the artists represented by the gallery.
The gallery presents five or six exhibitions per season, with an annual program of solo and duo shows, performances, artist editions, salons and thematic group projects. Annually the gallery participates at two or four different international art fairs, bringing an exhibition that represent the gallery's philosophy and program.
The aim is to build a sustainable trust-based relation between artists and gallerist and 'to grow well together' by organizing and creating connections between artists, collectors, curators and art lovers. The commercial aspects of a gallery may not invade the artistic process, hence Eva Steynen Gallery distinguishes itself by rather risk-taking and curatorial shows often with a museal character.
Currently the gallery represents Diane Bogaerts, Nel Bonte, Christine Clinckx, Benoît Felix, Alice Janne, Johannes Ulrich Kubiak, Wannes Lecompte, Fred Michiels, Robert Soroko, Ken'ichiro Taniguchi, Jan Verbruggen.
