About Hopstreet Gallery
The gallery has been founded in Brussels in January 2011 in downtown Brussels in the living Dansaert area. The name of the gallery finds tis origin in the street name (rue du Houblon / Hopstraat). In September 2014 Marie-Paule opened their new gallery space in Elsene/Ixelles at the Rivoli building, on the corner of the Rue Saint-Georges and the Rue Emile Claus. . We promote European artists that have a common interest in the sculptural, the spatial and who work like archaeologists. They are interested both in the physical object and the nature of the meaning of objects. The work they produce is layered and can only be discovered slowly; it surrenders its indiscernible, underlying structures slowly.
