About O-68
Art gallery O-68 started in 2011 in Velp near Arnhem, just 100 km or one hour by car from Amsterdam. The choice of works by the gallery is explicitly based on the quality of contemporary art in the broad sense, not limited to a specific technique or movement. The gallery has 6 exhibitions a year and participates in Dutch and international fairs, e.g., Scope Art Basel, London Art Fair, DRAW Art Fair London, The Solo Project Brussels. Depot-o68 is located next to the gallery. Depo-o68 is a villa with 9 rooms furnished in Art Deco style with works on sale by artists of Art Gallery O-68. Also, artist’s talks and art group discussions take place there. Triennially the gallery presents the 'International O-68 Award for Visual Artists', an incentive prize of €10,000 for artists from the Dutch border provinces, Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany, and Flanders in Belgium, who graduated between 7 and 14 years ago. Selection criteria are quality of work and planned use of the prize for the development of the career of the artist. From October 2019 the gallery has a new location, Oranjestraat 74, a spacious place of 18x8x5.5 m. It was originally built as a gym (1883), then later served as a church (from 1952) and has now been turned into a gallery.
