William van Esveld (b. 1964, NL) lives and works in Amsterdam. His studio designs interiors and sets for fashion brands, among other things, and he started making autonomous work in 2019.
During a visit to Murano in 2019, he wanted to learn how to work with glass because it is such a difficult and challenging material. He started collaborating with glass blowers in Amsterdam and had his first exhibition at the invitation of the Venice Glass Week 2021 in Venice.
The glass objects tell the story of Venice's lagoon and the colors of the North Sea. Small details on the glass illustrate mussels, jellyfish and seaweed.
