Sigurrós G. Björnsdóttir (IS, 1991) is an Icelandic artist based in Antwerpen. She received her master’s degree in Sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2021. Sigurrós works in various media, mainly making sculptures and writing fictional short stories inspired by her surroundings and photographs she has been collecting through the years. Her sculptures are largely made from ceramics and concrete, they are simple shapes with added details in the form of drawings, photographs, or handmade objects that give the viewer clues about the story behind the work.
Sigurrós G. Björnsdóttir lives and works in Antwerp (BE). She studied Sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Her work was part of several exhibitions accross Europe including a solo show at Kalkman Gallery, Antwerp (BE); a duo show at Ásmundarsalur, Reykjavík (IS) and group shows at Gallery Port, Reykjavík; The Living Art Museum, Reykjavík; Huidevettersstraat 39, Antwerp. Her work is currently part of the group show Mother(Land) at Z33 in Hasselt (BE).
