Post-medium navigators of space and perception, Nabuurs&VanDoorn explore the layered relationships between memory, movement and the cartography of everyday life. Their mixed media works — combining photography, painting, drawing, text, found materials and spatial intervention — give shape to fleeting moments, imagined geographies and subtle social choreography. Blurring the boundaries between observation and fiction, their practice maps the porous edges of contemporary experience and invites viewers to look again at what usually remains unnoticed.
Nabuurs&VanDoorn live and work in the Netherlands and abroad. They have developed a collaborative practice grounded in research, site-responsive making and poetic disruption.
Their work has recently been exhibited at institutions such as the Sainsbury Centre (UK), Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven), and Hangar Art Center (Lisbon), and is part of several private and public collections.
