In his new exhibition Floating Things, designer and artist Floris Hovers shifts his exploration from the city to the water. The same materials, the same simplicity, but now in the form of boats!
Just like his cars, tractors and skylines, the boat is reduced to its simplest form. His boats are almost childlike, nostalgic representations of an idea.
In Floating Things, Hovers’ use of colour is once again unmistakable: bright, unmixed fields of colour that make his work instantly recognisable. No nuances, no transitions, but colour as a building block, every bit as essential as form.
