The exhibition *Into the Woods* will be on view at Museum MORE from 12 September 2026 to 21 March 2027 in Delden.
Majestic trees, idyllic woodland ponds, uncanny undergrowth and mysterious paths that lead nowhere. Ten contemporary Dutch artists and a writer invite you into the forest. Their masterful, surprising or unsettling depictions of nature evoke unfamiliar emotions and hidden memories. On this journey through the woods — as ancient as myths and fairy tales — you will come to see the sublime qualities of the landscape through different eyes. Featuring works by Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Siemen Dijkstra, Ruud van Empel, Martin Fenne, Erik Odijk, Lise Lou Sore, Renie Spoelstra, Sophie Steengracht and Isabella Werkhoven.
For centuries, the forest has been a place where people find peace and insight. At the mercy of the elements and animal instincts, it is also a source of dark tales. It is the forest’s unfathomable vastness and mysterious beauty that draw us back time and again. In this exhibition, contemporary Dutch artists invite you to take a walk *into the woods*. The paintings, drawings, prints, photo collages and videos reveal landscapes in which you can daydream and exhale. Or that may momentarily take your breath away… Let your mind be cleansed and your soul nourished, so that you emerge refreshed.
