CHANGING SEASONS
Gommaar Gilliams, Florentijn de Boer & Marc Mulders
6 September – 15 November 2026
With CHANGING SEASONS, KERSGALLERY opens its new space at Hazenstraat 2A in Amsterdam. The exhibition marks a new chapter for the gallery and brings together works by Gommaar Gilliams, Florentijn de Boer and Marc Mulders.
The changing seasons symbolise transformation, transience and renewal. Nature retreats in order to grow again; colours fade, only to return in another form. Memories, desires and images are similarly in constant motion. What disappears leaves traces behind, creating fertile ground for something new.
In Gommaar Gilliams’ layered visual language, personal memories are interwoven with universal symbols and art-historical references. His works unfold like visual landscapes in which time, longing and imagination flow into one another.
Through her sculptural ceramics, Florentijn de Boer creates an idiosyncratic, almost mythical world. Organic forms, flowers and imaginative figures appear to emerge from a natural realm in a continuous state of growth and transformation.
In Marc Mulders’ paintings, the garden becomes a place of contemplation and wonder. Flowers, light and colour carry a deeper, almost spiritual experience. Here, nature is not only the subject, but also an ever-changing source of meaning.
Together, the works form a rich and sensory whole in which growth and decay, light and darkness, past and future continually alternate. CHANGING SEASONS explores the moment between what lies behind us and what is yet to emerge—an exhibition about change, but above all about the promise of a new beginning.
