Studio Seine celebrates ten years with the anniversary exhibition #10!
Since 2016, we have presented fifty exhibitions featuring 85 artists and guest curators. Along the way, we have participated in numerous art fairs and evolved from an independent exhibition space into an engaged gallery for contemporary art.
To mark this milestone, we look back on the past decade with ten artists whose work we have previously presented in solo exhibitions.
For #10 - Anniversary Show we've selected work by ten artists that are typical for Studio Seine; the work invites reflection. The focus is on painting, drawing, video and photography – media in which the maker’s hand is clearly recognisable. Studio Seine invites visitors to ‘complete’ the work by actively engaging with it.
Studio Seine invites artists to peel back the layers of their personal stories and share them with us: stories of conflict, of personal and social fault lines, of echoes of history, of healing and connection.
Every person is a story. Through storytelling, we come to know who someone is, where they come from, and which dreams, desires, obsessions and fears have shaped their present and future. #10 allows visitors to immerse themselves in the stories of others – and, in doing so, come closer to their own.
