vernissage
Saturday 28 February 2026 – 8:00 p.m. (doors open 7:30 p.m.)
The exhibition "Paperworks" opens on Saturday 28 February. It is Ilse Pierard's (born 1976, Vilvoorde) first solo show at the gallery. The exhibition will run for three weeks and is the first in a series of three short exhibitions that will follow each other in the spring of 2026.
Pierard's work shows great precision and concentration, with the paper not merely serving as a medium but as an integral part of the artist's thinking and actions. The “cells” she creates with found paper balance between subtlety and tension: fragile in material, but sharp in intention. With a refined visual language and a strong focus on rhythm, emptiness and repetition, the artist builds layered compositions that slowly unfold and invite the viewer to discover the potential in things that would otherwise be overlooked.
For this occasion, Ilse Pierard invited her fellow artist Kris De Plecker to complement the exhibition with a few sculptures.
