The Waves, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel of the same name, explores identity as fluid, relational, and continuously shaped by memory, ecology, ritual, and interdependence.
Across performance, video, installation, and sculpture, artists offer distinct yet interwoven perspectives: from ritual and bodily transformation (Gamze Öztürk), to ecological and post-human narratives (Anouk Kruithof), material storytelling rooted in history and place (Lana Mesić), and sculptural meditations on fragility, care, and solidarity (Mesut Öztürk). Together, their works create a terrain where the boundaries between body, nature, and technology are continuously renegotiated and invite reflection on how bodies, histories, and environments are deeply entangled within contemporary life.
The exhibition explores the fluid relationship between self and environment, inviting reflection on identity, memory, and interconnectedness within the city’s diverse and ever-evolving cultural landscape.
