The walls of our H.F. Room will soon hold the raw, enigmatic world of Alexandra Duprez.
Alexandra describes her practice as being drawn to what is alive, imperfect, and enigmatic, much like the worlds of Carole Rama or Mamma Andersson. She says realistic painting, as it is often practiced today, holds little interest for her. She doesn’t try to draw well, nor to be in reality.
A French artist with a deeply intuitive voice, Alexandra is, according to Niqui, a perfect fit for the gallery. Her work carries a strong, unmistakable signature, both abstract and figurative, simple yet layered. It evokes instant recognition, and there’s a purity to it that resonates deeply. And beyond that, she is simply very talented.
Come see her solo show Imperfection, a quiet celebration of the beautifully unresolved as of 13.04.2025.
