Where colour, material, and movement come together: Bold, Bright, Textured! presents the layered, expressive works of Noah Arends and Karen van de Vliet. Both artists embrace transformation, allowing images, textures, and pigments to take on new forms in their creative process.
- Noah Arends builds her work through collage, cutting and reassembling fashion photography into dynamic compositions. These images are scanned, digitally reworked, and printed on fabric before being stretched over sculptural forms. What begins as glossy and commercial is reshaped into something entirely new, playful yet monumental, tactile yet refined.
- Karen van de Vliet draws inspiration from the unintentional beauty of everyday textures, weathered surfaces, the thick relief of pedestrian walkways, scattered chewing gum, or the shifting patterns of water. Translating these into abstract, colourful paintings, she allows material and movement to guide her, balancing intention with spontaneity.
This exhibition celebrates bold gestures, vibrant hues, and the tactile joy of creation. Between paint and textile, control and coincidence, these works invite you to look beyond the surface and experience the layers beneath.
