For Art Rotterdam 2025, Root Gallery presents a carefully curated selection of works by Vera Klaus, Lisette Schumacher, Saïd Kinos, and Sophie de Vos. Each artist explores the boundaries of their medium, working with colour, movement, and perception in unique ways.
Vera Klaus unveils her largest works to date, where expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours capture energy and spontaneity on an impressive scale. Lisette Schumacher introduces a new series of ethereal, floating panels that shift dynamically with light and space, inspired by modernist architecture and her research into perception. Saïd Kinos continues his exploration of language and abstraction, layering bold typography with intuitive, fluid compositions. Sophie de Vos expands her Fragments of Clarity series, using reflection and distortion to challenge the way we see and interpret our surroundings.
This presentation brings together both large-scale statement pieces and smaller, more intricate works, offering a dynamic contrast between bold gestures and refined detail. The combination highlights the artists’ shared interest in movement, materiality, and shifting perspectives while allowing space for individual expression.
