During the fifth edition of Art on Paper Amsterdam, Marieke Severens Gallery will show work by Kees van de Wal, Teresa Pera, Dorine van der Ploeg, Marta & Slava, and Mario Pasqualotto. At this edition, over 40 modern and contemporary galleries will show their collections of art made on, with or from paper. Ranging from Roos Holleman and Julian Opie to Kees van Dongen and Rembrandt, the fair presents the best that paper has to offer as a medium: from classical to contemporary.
Since 2018, Art on Paper Amsterdam has been the Dutch art fair for contemporary art on, from or with paper. Since 2024, the ‘Classical and Modern’ section with renowned art dealers has been part of the fair.
International: Around 60% of the participants are from the Netherlands and 40% from abroad. In 2024, galleries from Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Austria, Spain and Japan participated.
Paper: Work on or with paper, be it pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, watercolour, gouache or collage, shows the artist in the most spontaneous and artistically free moment. The immediacy associated with this medium brings artist and viewer very close together. In their intimacy and vulnerability, works on or with paper thrive on the exclusive attention they receive at this specialised art fair.
Collecting: Art on or with paper is not only artistically special, but is often accessible and attractive in terms of format and price. Novice art lovers are likely to make one of their first art purchases here.
