How do we perceive the truth in form, experience or another way? Despite the complexity of man, who is more complex than any god made by man, and being the rational or dominant being with his mind on this planet, he tries to live in a false world through his pursuit of advertisements that promote products in a beautiful and poetic way. It is a depiction of a product in a way different from reality to give us overwhelming ecstasy to live in dreams in which we find strength, power, happiness and beauty.....And the matter does not stop there, but we drown ourselves in dreams and illusions of wakefulness through an experience or situation we went through to live in stories or fairy-tale worlds. Why do we love illusion and make space for it in our lives? Is there a reason? We, like a beautiful advertisement, appear in a way that contradicts our reality.
Dr. Ahmed Khlaif Mankhi
With a unique and intuitive approach, Mohammed Alani transforms discarded and forgotten objects into poetic reflections of contemporary life. What may seem worthless to many is given new meaning in his work, revealing hidden stories and reshaping our perspective on everyday materials.
Alani’s art is deeply connected to his surroundings, serving as a dialogue with the cultural and social shifts around him. By using objects that once carried personal significance, he bridges the past and the present. His works preserve the essence of a bygone era while adding a contemporary voice.
Inspired by the traditions of assemblage and transformation from art history, Alani reinterprets these principles in his own way. His work emphasizes simplicity and intuition over technical perfection, embracing imperfections and the rawness of the material. Each piece invites interaction and participation, and in his performances, viewers often become part of the artwork itself. This blurs the boundaries between object and subject, challenging the audience to rethink their role and perspective.
Modified from its Original is a celebration of resilience and reinvention. It encourages us to find beauty in the discarded and reconnect with the stories hidden in our surroundings. Alani’s work reminds us that art is not only about creation but also about transformation.
A reflection of our shared humanity, constantly evolving from what once was.
