For Art on Paper Brussels, edition 2024, Eva Steynen Gallery presents a colorful, light-hearted group exhibition about perception. A wall-filling cut-out drawing by Benoît Felix, next to the striking colors of Johannes Kubiak's works on paper and graphic, humorous watercolors by Nel Bonte. Supplemented with recent cheerful works on paper by Fred Michiels.
The works of Benoît Felix, Johannes Kubiak, Nel Bonte and Fred Michiels come together not only in their formal complementarity, but above all in their perception of what there is and the way how things appear to them. Felix makes poetry out of cut-out drawings , and Michiels' more organically formed paintings contrast with Bonte's graphic playfulness and Kubiak's more formal approach of structure and color.
