The month of December is reserved for a group exhibition featuring three photographers: Vivian Ammerlaan, Kasia Dembinski, and Inez Smit. Their photographic work converges in their admiration for nature. From here, each of them manipulates nature in their own way and makes the influence of time palpable, resulting in beautiful new landscapes, double exposures, and still lifes.
Vivian Ammerlaan (1994) creates impressions of landscapes and nature that she constructs in her home using materials she finds there, and then photographs them. With this project, which began in 2016, she seeks ways to capture overwhelming nature and the sublime.
Kasia Dembinski (1991) is a visual artist and educational researcher in Rotterdam. In her photographic work she references folk art and nature imagery, creating collages using double exposure on analogue film. Her work highlights the metaphors and stories which she observes in the present day.
Inez Smit (1967) watched a year pass in her city garden, a quiet oasis within the noisy city, where time pleasantly slows down. She gathered everything that bloomed and turned them into little still lifes. Collected moments which form a time capsule.
