Gregor Törzs masterfully knows how to combine various papers and structures using classic, analogue photography techniques and a contemporary perspective. His works always fascinate the viewer. Since he was a little child growing up in Hamburg (Germany), he has been fascinated with nature and adventure. And it’s this sense of melancholy, or nostalgia, that he tries to make people feel when they look at his work. After living in Los Angeles and working in the commercial worlds of fashion and advertising, he felt that something was missing. He uprooted again and headed to Berlin, its creative and international center attracted him. Here, he developed his own styles and methods of photography and analog printing, in platinum, and continues to experiment with new processes even today.
In the now two centuries of its existence, the Commeter Gallery has been part of Hamburg's art life significantly shaped. Since 1996, Carola Persiehl has been running the gallery, which was founded in 1821, in the fifth generation and presents contemporary international artists as well as Persiehl & Heine Galerie für Photography.
