Construction and use of color are important to Floris Hovers, but one aspect predominates in all his designs: simplicity. He reduces everything to the bare essentials, so that the essence of the design remains: ‘’The world around us is becoming so complicated, the simplicity in my designs stems from a personal need to go against it. It keeps things clear and organized. I think a lot of people secretly long for that.” Achieved in an interplay between man and machine, Hovers’ gained fame from ikonic designs such as the ‘Plankmeubels’, ‘Stoklamp’, ‘ArcheToys’ and many more.
