Annet Gelink Gallery is pleased to present its new online exhibition, So many thoughts, so little teeth
Taking as a point of departure the title of one of Josse Pyl’s works, this online exhibition is dedicated to communication in all its forms – translated through language, art, and bodies. So many thoughts, so little teeth (2021) is emblematic for this group show for its exploration of the production of language and how it substantiates and influences our interpretation of the daily reality and our communication with others. Mouths, teeth and bodies, the physical carriers of language, are a recurring theme in this exhibition, focusing not only on the cultural production of meaning but on its corporeal aspects as well. Language is simultaneously digested and performed, shaped by and shaping our bodies.
The show encompasses a variety of media, from ceramics to drawing and photography, together forming a body of work that approaches these themes in various ways. The artists included in the show are Josse Pyl, Ed van der Elsken, Bertien van Manen and Ella Reitsma.Snoep.
