The vulnerability of nature has long been the subject of the work of these three artists. However, they use totally different visual languages for this. Anutosh paints an oppressive underwater world, fallen trees and decayed forests. Patrick Bergsma depicts a disquieting struggle between nature and the consequences of urbanisation and materialism in beautifully designed images. Leon van Opstal gives insects that have been killed by insecticides (and are sometimes on the verge of extinction) a second life in which they have more opportunities to fight back and thus survive. If nature survives and recovers, in principle, mankind has also won.
The run-up to a possible environmental disaster is aesthetically depicted in this exhibition.
