The Josilda da Conceicao gallery presents a new show with Bart Stolle, Kaspar Dejong and Octave Rimbert-Rivière.
Three young artists with surprising new work.
Bart Stolle comes with a whole new series of drawings while Kaspar Dejong presents an installation with natural elements and accompanying paintings. This in combination with Octave's glass installation brings a great diversity through all areas.
At first sight the works of these artists seem to be far apart, but together in space they complement each other.
Kaspar Dejong, artist based in Amsterdam. Dejong’s work consists of paintings, drawings and sculptures. Dejong uses a method in which the viewer is confronted with a transformed version of reality. Dejong re-uses images from daily life and deconstructs these objects and images in such a way that their signals lose meaning. As a spectator you are confronted with an image, that at first glance seems to be familiar but is not.
Bart Stolle, contemporary artist based in Ghent. Stolle his paintings and drawings consist of carefully selected and often geometric units. Stolle analyses similarities between the logic of the computer and the human mind.
Octave Rimbert-Rivière, artist based in Lyon. Rimbert-Rivière’s work is the result of unlikely chimeric gatherings: accumulations, juxtapositions, experiments with scales and inversions. Craftsmanship meets mechanics of massive industrial production while the triviality of everyday objects is combined with artistic and popular references.
