ADN Galería would like to present for Artbrussels 2020 a selection of works by Carlos Aires, Jordi Colomer, Avelino Sala, Eugenio Merino, Núria Güell, Margaret Harrison and María María Acha-Kutscher. This new participation to Artbrussels would like to underline the advance of ADN Galeria in the direction that has marked its trajectory since its foundation: to function as a hybrid platform between commercial mediation and cultural contribution aiming at promoting current artistic ideas and trends, thus fostering thinking on socio-political current issues.
Our proposal aims to stress both poetical and political language from different angles. After some of the most emblematic art events lately and considering the growing inclusion of the so-called ‘political artists’, we think that the public and the collectors will pay attention to socially-oriented practices. Our point is that the market is not completely oblivious of the social dynamics in which these practices develop.
Furthermore, the selection of works stresses dichotomies concepts present in the work of each of the artists: between religion and spirituality, patriarchate and feminism, popular culture and cognitive capitalism, industrial design and nature and finally sacred and profane. The works showed during the fair will condense the strength of engagement and the power of poetry.
